HoneyKome, the digital agency launched by the Olé Media Group earlier this year, is rapidly expanding. Agency director, Dylan Kruger, welcomes new recruits Alessandro Bonora (creative director) and Tara Smith (client services manager), and congratulates Darren Leite (social media community manager) and Pieter Pretorius (technical director) on their new roles.
Having garnered experience in traditional and digital agencies in South Africa and abroad, creative director Alessandro Bonora has worked on brands as diverse as Johnson&Johnson, Standard Chartered Bank and the World Wildlife Fund. He brings a wealth of conceptual and creative expertise, as well as advanced technical skills including a deep understanding of responsive design and interactive digital communication methodologies.
With a background in education, art and English, Tara Smith joins the agency as client services manager. Her experience as copywriter and strategist at Hellocomputer, and most recently as account manager at Saatchi & Saatchi mean she is well placed to handle the intricacies of life in a busy agency and burgeoning industry.
Darren Leite is an inter-company transfer from TEAMtalk media, the sports news agency and digital publisher within the Olé Media Group. As social media community manager at HoneyKome, Darren encourages the promotion of the organisation’s sports websites, and will manage the social conversation for the agency’s clients in the consumer lifestyle sector, spanning sporting apparel to groceries and consumer electronics.
A seasoned professional in the digital agency and publishing world, Pieter Pretorius moves from the role of lead developer to technical director at HoneyKome, taking on responsibility for leading the development team in their quest for digital excellence. Pieter has a wide range of skills covering backend, frontend and systems development and brings a wealth of technical know-how to the organisation and its clients.
At HoneyKome the focus is on the creation and implementation of strategic digital engagement models for brands and companies, with a team whose skills comprise creative concept and strategy, design and development, content creation and distribution, social media management, experiential marketing and the implementation of related technology requirements. HoneyKome’s strength as a ‘mobile first’ agency places it in prime position to address an African digital audience, from a simple USSD or SMS engagement campaign to a fully integrated digital strategy with multiple touch points and elaborate implementation.
Group CMO and MD of HoneyKome, Deseré Orrill, concludes: “Having a team of this calibre on board which is strategic, creative and has the ability to get to grips with a multitude of business sectors, we know we can deliver on our promise of digital pollination for brands. It’s no wonder that we’ve just signed two new clients this month!”
